Eurotherm, which is part of Invensys, is partnering with Ocean Data Systems (ODS) to supply Dream Report™ software, the first integrated reporting solution for industrial automation.
Dream Report software is designed to be the simplest solution for extracting data from almost any data source. At the same time, it is capable of automatically generating reports at any location for whoever requests them and so is ideally partnered to match Eurotherm’s solutions for its key vertical markets.
In a joint statement Karen Rigby, Marketing Management at Eurotherm and Dominique Dias, Executive Manager at Ocean Data Systems said, “Dream Report software has been customised for Eurotherm to provide a specific communications layer to extract data from Eurotherm’s graphic recorder devices. Existing drivers will also allow access via OPC to data within other Eurotherm products and so can provide key analysis and statistical data about automation devices and the processes they are managing. Most importantly the output can be shared with everybody providing a highly effective, low cost solution”.
Based on a configurable end user interface, Dream Report software is a real time reporting generator solution that fits perfectly in both continuous and batch process applications throughout all the process industries. It combines five key functions demanded by industrial automation users:
Data collection
Dream Report software now incorporates a Eurotherm Review driver and report template enabling historical data to be obtained from Eurotherm Review databases.
Additionally, a robust communications kernel is installed enabling collection of data and alarms from multiple real time and historical sources – utilising OPC, OLE and ODBC standards to ensure a common interface between sources from different suppliers
Data logging
Dream Report software has its own internal historian which logs all statistics but also data and alarms from OPC Servers such as Eurotherm LINOPC or EuroMBUS. It can also be connected to other data sources via ODBC allowing open access to databases such as oracle, MySql, Access or Eurotherm’s Information Manager.
Data extraction and analysis
Dream Report software integrates a user-friendly object library to extract data statistics and analysis to be displayed in multiple views including tables, bars, pies and charts.
Report design
Dream Report studio integrates an intuitive graphical editor to create and save state-of-the-art reports as templates
Report generation and distribution
Dream Report software enables both manual and automatic report generation. When ready, reports can be automatically printed, emailed, stored and published over the web if necessary.
The partnership with ODS to supply Dream Report software enables Eurotherm to provide lower-cost global solutions, particularly for smaller business customers and also customised reports to match specific market areas, for example a batch report for Eurotherm’s newly released AERODAQ recorder.
